Square Enix has posted the third part of Final Fantasy IV Fan-Powered Questions & Answers on September 19. One of the questions that was answered by Final Fantasy IV’s executive producer & director Takashi Tokita is about a “full-blown remake of Final Fantasy IV”. The answer is quite interesting:
—samcai asks: Do you guys have any more plans to remake FINAL FANTASY IV in the future? A full blown remake of FINAL FANTASY IV for a more powerful console, such as the Sony PlayStation 3, would be epic!
Tokita: We just remade it, so it’s a bit of a stretch… [Laughs] Currently the sequel, FINAL FANTASY IV the After: Tsuki no Kikan [tentative title], is available for mobile phones in Japan. We’ll do our best to make this game available for our overseas audiences as well!

Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories will be released for the PlayStation 2 in North America this holiday for the retail price of $29.99 USD.
The PlayStation 2 version might be released in Europe, but it is still undecided. It is a shame that Square Enix decided not to bring Final Mix+ along with Chain of Memories.

The most recent issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) featured an article entitled ‘Nomura’s Heroes’ that reviewed numerous games Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura is involved in, including Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Birth by Sleep.
358/2 DAYS REVIEW
Platform: Nintendo DS, Release: 2009
“An ambitious multiplayer take on Kingdom Hearts, the oddly named 358/2 Days wasn’t nearly impressive as Birth by Sleep. Square Enix may simply be asking too much of the humble DS hardware, and lack of an analog controller hurts too. Worse, rather than making enemies clever and challenging for four players to take down, the developers simply bumped up their hit points. There’s hope for this one, but it definitely needs work.”
BIRTH BY SLEEP REVIEW
Platform: PSP Release: 2009
“The standout title at the DKΣ3713 event, Birth by Sleep brings the polish and craftsmanship of Final Fantasy VII:Crisis Core to the oddball Square/Disney fusion of Kingdom Hearts. Oddly enough, this side story doesn’t star Sora, Roxas, and the usual gang but rather a trio of unknowns named Terra, Aqua and Ventus. It still plays like the PS2, but the skill system seems to have been derived from Chain of Memories for GBA - which is a good thing.”

Both Motomu Toriyama and Tetsuya Nomura have spoken out regarding Fabula Nova Crystallis to Dengeki Magazine.
The two directors were reluctant to reveal any details of great interest, but they still had some interesting words for us regarding their games.
Firstly, Toriyama reminds us that Final Fantasy 13 will most definitely not be released for Xbox 360 in Japan. This is just a port for the Western markets. They don’t feel it is worth spending the money to release this on an Eastern market, as very few people care about the console in Japan or its surroundings. He also states that Final Fantasy Agito 13 will be the last of the three games to be released.
Nomura however wanted us to know that Final Fantasy Versus 13 will be “more like a traditional Final Fantasy game than FF13, in Versus 13 you travel across mountains, ocean, wandering in dungeons and battle with summon beasts and so on.”

Square Enix has announced that Chrono Trigger will be released for the Nintendo DS in Europe early 2009 (this is actually the first official release of the game in Europe). John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments:
